Caulkstrips Tub & Wall

Caulkstrips Tub & Wall

Instructions

Surface Preparation: Remove all loose or protruding caulk. If silicone caulk has been used, it must be completely removed. If necessary, mineral spirits/paint thinner may be used to soften any remaining particles of caulk.

Thoroughly clean with scouring powder to remove caulk residue, soap film, mildew, and rinse clean. Use rubbing alcohol for final cleaning of surfaces. Allow surfaces to dry thoroughly before installing caulkstrip.

Application to tub and wall:

  1. Measure the longest length of the tub and cut caulkstrip to that length. (Total application will be made in three strips.)
  2. Pre-bend the caulkstrip by folding it at the score line to form a 90° angle.
  3. Peel the first 12 inches of backing paper and begin to press the folded caulkstrip into the joint where the tub meets the wall. Pressing the caulkstrip firmly against both tub and wall, continue to peel the backing paper along the length of the wall.
  4. Measure the short side lengths of the tub and apply the same way. At the corners, overlap the bottom half of the strip. You may leave it this way or miter (45° angle) the corners by cutting through both bottom layers.
  5. After installing all three strips, run your fingers firmly over all three lengths to ensure good adhesion and watertight seal. Do not use shower or tub for 12 hours following installation.
