To remedy many problems with Jasco products, we recommend using an acid wash, and then neutralizing. What is the recommended ratio of baking soda to water solution to neutralize?
1 cup baking soda to 5 gallons of warm water.
Can the product be tinted?
Yes. This product can be mixed with up to 6 ounces of universal tinting color to one gallon of ZPW which will produce a water repellent wood preservative semi-transparent stain.
I got some ZPW on my clothes. Will the product come out?
Yes. ZPW is water-rinsable; ZPW will come out of clothing if washed.
Could Copper Clear or ZPW be used to protect new wood on the exterior of a log home from mildew and fungus?
Yes, they both help protect against mold and fungus. Mildew is from lack of ventilation and sunlight, and can grow on the surface. The products will help to protect from this also.
How often should I re-apply ZPW?
Re-apply when the wood starts to show signs of weathering. Dry looking, possible open grain etc. Usually check every 1 and 1/2 years.
Does the ZPW contain wax?
ZPW does not contain wax. It is a water based zinc napthenate wood preservative.
How could I tint the ZPW?

The product is leaving an odor after a couple of days?
The wood may be pretreated. In this case you will need to remove with a deck wash.
