Instructions

  1. For Exterior Use Only. It is a violation of Federal law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling.
  2. All wood to be treated should be dry, clean, and free from previous finishes and the framing and cutting completed before applying JASCO ZPW.
  3. All unsound wood should be removed at least 2 feet beyond any visible evidence of decay.
  4. Above Ground Wood: Best results can be obtained by soaking the wood for five minutes per inch of wood thickness. When this is not possible at least 2 coats should be applied by brush or low-pressure spray.
  5. The second coat must be applied before the first coat is dry, and all surfaces should be covered with particular attention paid to side and end grains.
  6. Fence posts, poles, foundation timbers and heavy wooden members should be free of bark, dry, and well seasoned.
  7. Below Ground Wood: The portion to be buried should be soaked for 48 hours to be an effective wood preservative against decay – 24 hours for wood in contact with soil.
  8. Avoid spray drift.
  9. Fishnets, rope, canvas, burlap, or twine should be dipped in JASCO ZPW to thoroughly saturate the fibers.
  10. Use warm soapy water for brushes, spray equipment, etc. Do not contaminate water when disposing of equipment wash water.

Warnings:

  • Causes substantial but temporary eye injury. Harmful or fatal if swallowed or absorbed through the skin. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling. Remove contaminated clothing and wash before each reuse. Avoid breathing spray mist or vapors. Wear goggles or face shields and rubber gloves when handling ZPW. DO NOT breathe vapors during brush, roll, spray, and dip applications. Wear a NIOSH/MSHA approved respirator when spraying for continued use of this product, or for frequent use of this product.
  • In case of emergencies or accidents involving this product, call Chemtrec at 1-800-424-9300.
  • Application of this product may produce strong, lingering, unpleasant odor.

First Aid:

  • If In Eyes: immediately flush with large quantity of water and get medical treatment.
    If On Skin: Flush with water. Remove and wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
    If Swallowed: Do not induce vomiting. CALL A DOCTOR.

Storage and Disposal

  • Prohibitions: Do not contaminate water, food or feed by storage or disposal.
    Pesticide Disposal: Wastes resulting from the use of this product may be disposed of on site or at an approved waste disposal facility.
    Container Disposal: U.S. Quart / 1 Gallon containers: Do not reuse empty container. Securely wrap original container in several layers of newspaper, and discard in trash.
    General: Consult Federal, State or local disposal authorities for approved alternative procedures.

Environmental Hazards:

  • This product is toxic to fish. Do not apply to water, or the area where surface water is present or to inter-tidal areas below the mean high water mark. Do not contaminate water by cleaning of equipment or disposal of wastes.

Physical and Chemical Hazards:

  • Combustible. Do not use or store near heat or open flame. Close container after each use.
