Instructions
Always start with a clean dry surface.
Recommended Supplies:
Joint/Spackling Compound, 6" - 8" Drywall Knife, Sanding Tool, Painting Materials, Homax Spray Texture* to match existing surface. ( * if necessary)
- Tape:
Crack must be wide enough to accommodate joint compound; widen if necessary. Apply Crack Patch, extending mesh 1 inch beyond each end of crack. For holes, apply tape in an “X” over hole, extending 2 in. beyond hole. - Mud:
Use 6 inch-8 inch drywall knife to apply a thin coat of compound to fill holes in mesh tape. Allow to dry. Apply a second thin coat to cover mesh and “feather” edges outward. Allow to dry. - Sand:
Sand to a smooth finish. Apply a third coat of compound, “feathering” edges outward. Allow to dry and sand. Apply spray texture to match wall texture (if necessary*) and paint to match.
* If surrounding wall is textured with and Orange Peel, Splatter or Knockdown texture, choose one of the Homax Easy Touch Spray Texures to match.
