Frequently Asked Questions
What type of ropes should be used?
A 1/8” to 3/8’ braided rope is ideal for this design.
Could a nylon coated rope cause the Rope Cinch to slip and not be as secure?
Some ropes are harder to use, the yellow nylon rope require more force to lock in place.
The packaging states the Rope Cinch can be used to hoist holds up to 150 lbs., what about the weight of cargo?
Since wind forces can vary depending on several different and sometimes uncontrollable issues, we do not recommend using this product to secure cargo that will be subjected to wind for ant any speed. Pull tests have provided a maximum strength of the Rope Cinch to hold up to 150 lbs.
Are the hooks UV resistant or resistant to colder temperatures?
Both. The product will resist UV ray and resists cracking to -40°F.
What type of material is the Rope Cinch made from?
The product is made from glass filled nylon very similar to the Crocodile Clips.
